Pediatric Respiratory and Critical Care Workshop 2017
This years Pediatric Respiratory and Critical Care Workshop was held on the 21st of April to the 23rd. The conference was hosted by Prof Li, from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital. The session focused on pediatric hemodynamic assessment and management.
Dr. Rujipat, from King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, presented on the advancement in hemodynamic monitoring and it’s significant recent progress to assist in the management of critically ill children. Invasive CO assessment in infants and children is often avoided because of the inherent risks. There has been growing scientific evidence with the development of non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring. The Ultrasound Doppler cardiac output monitoring (USCOM) is one of the most reliable tools for assessing hemodynamic physiology that can be easily and rapidly applied in a variety of children with hemodynamic alteration.
